Carmen Smith is a thought leader within the Travel Industry, often offering a unique perspective and voice. With an impressive 25+ years of experience, Carmen spent several years operating her own Travel Consulting firm, which included advising Sports Teams Management, World Class Track & Field Athletes, and Government and Commercial clientele. Carmen has worked the better part of her career, providing valuable insight into the Travel industry as a recognized expert. She has personally assisted several companies in building state-of-the-art Travel programs, often bringing them to prevalence and best-in-class status.

She has led global teams with Travel, Meetings & Events, Corporate and Long-term housing, T & E and Meetings Cards, Fleet, and Large Air Charters within her purview.

Carmen is an active member of GBTA and the TAMs Community, where she is the current President of GBTA - Greater DC Metro. She received the 2020 GBTA Chapter President’s Council Business Travel Service Award, was Honored as 2021 WINiT’s Top 50 Women in Travel, received several industry scholarships, and earned her GLP designation.

Carmen hosted a webcast series during the pandemic entitled "Proposed Project Plan Return to Travel - Post Covid 19". As a prominent expert in her field, you can find Carmen speaking on various topics across the Travel industry.
